Disclosing Assets
Under English law every person who is a party to divorce proceedings has an obligation to declare their financial circumstances, frankly and in full. Many do not, and dishonestly attempt to defeat a spouse's claim by hiding behind offshore structures, trusts or nominees. The Court has wide powers to unravel any unnecessary structures established by a spouse with the intention of defeating or reducing the other spouse's claims upon divorce. The decision whether to seek hidden funds and secure them to enforce judgments can demand considerable skill in weighing the benefit against cost. We have great experience in complex financial structures around the world.
