We are pleased to announce the appointment of senior politician Lord Peter Hain as Global and Government Adviser. Lord Hain will be helping Gordon Dadds and its clients to build on and expand their international connections, with particular focus on Africa and the Middle East.
Prior to joining the House of Lords in 2015, Lord Hain spent 24 years as a Member of Parliament including 12 years as a Government and senior Cabinet Minister, where he obtained a breadth of domestic policy experience in roles including Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, Energy Minister and Leader of the Commons.
In addition he acquired an international reputation for diplomacy and conflict resolution as Secretary of State for both Northern Ireland and Wales, Europe Minister and Foreign Minister for Africa and the Middle East. He famously negotiated an end to the Northern Ireland conflict and chaired meetings of the UN Security Council.
Over the last 3 years he has had several non-executive directorships and business strategic adviser roles.
Lord Hain is the author of 20 books and is Visiting Professor at the University of South Wales, Visiting Fellow at Swansea University and Visiting Teacher at the Civil Service College.
