I joined Gordon Dadds in 2014 as an Associate in the Dispute Resolution department having previously been at Davenport Lyons.
I have over 12 years’ experience as a commercial litigator specialising in civil fraud and insolvency. I provide support and advice to the COLP in respect of the firm’s compliance and legal regulatory issues and I am responsible for implementing an effective risk strategy across the firm and maintaining and communicating risk management issues to the business on an ongoing basis. In addition, I deal with day-to-day queries from the business including issues relating to conflicts of interest, anti-money laundering (AML), professional indemnity insurance matters, client due diligence and other queries arising from SRA Handbook. I also provide tailored legal and regulatory advice to the business and externally on a diverse range of queries, including professional standards advice, regulatory advice and AML advice.
What is your most interesting legal experience?
I acted for a wholly owned subsidiary of British Lion Films where the client was seeking to finalise the release and distribution of a film against the background of continued threat of insolvency proceedings from the director of the film. Prompt proceedings ensured delivery of the film (which was the sequel to The Wicker Man).
